BSMU Clinic trains medicos of Ufa private laboratories to conduct COVID-19 detection tests

Currently about 3000 coronavirus tests are conducted in the Republic of Bashkortostan per week. They are carried out at the laboratories of the Hygiene and Epidemiology Center and state medical institutions, including BSMU Clinic. With the help of private clinics participation, the number of tests is planned to increase to more than 4,000. Doctors say that there is no need for mass diagnostics. First of all, attention will continue to be paid to patients from the main risk groups.

At the same time, there are restrictions for private laboratories: they are forbidden to examine people who are known to be ill, with obvious signs of acute respiratory diseases. In any case, the appearance of such a service does not cancel the rules: if you find signs of illness, you should consult a doctor.

Alexander Gilmanov, head of the Laboratory Diagnostics department at BSMU concludes: "The clinical stage is Very important. First, you need a doctor who will suspect something similar to this infection. Then the patient is taken swabs from the pharynx and nasopharynx. And in special, rather strict conditions, they are delivered to an accredited laboratory, which will determine this. The definition is made within a few hours. In the future, the result is transmitted to the Rospotrebnadzor authorities, which maintain their statistics and take appropriate measures."

The medical centers "LoraC", "MediaLab" and "ProMedicine" will conduct the analysis of the new coronavirus in Ufa. The necessary materials and reagents have already been placed at their disposal. The cost of the service is not yet reported.
