The hundredth patient is discharged from the COVID-19 hospital of BSMU Clinic

On May 7, the hundredth patient was discharged from the COVID-19 hospital of BSMU Clinic with recovery.

- The patient with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis of moderate severity was treated at the hospital of BSMU Clinic. After receiving treatment, he was re-diagnosed, and after receiving two negative results and improving his health, he was discharged home. After discharge, he will spend two more weeks in self-isolation, after which he will be able to start his main work, - said Shamil Bulatov, chief doctor of BSMU Clinic.

Medical care is provided by the team of 50 medical practitioners, including employees of BSMU Clinic, faculty of BSMU, students-volunteers and residents, who work in shifts for two weeks.

- All the latest achievements that are used in the world practice for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with a new coronavirus infection, we apply in our Clinic. We are in constant online contact with our colleagues from China and Germany, share our experience and implement the best developments in our practice, - said Valentin Pavlov, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of RAS.

The COVID-19 hospital of BSMU Clinic was opened on April 16, 2020. The maximum number of patients who were treated at the same time in the hospital was 103 people. Currently 61 patients are being treated in the hospital, 9 of them are in the Intensive Care department, 4 patients are under the ventilator.
