BSMU and USATU collaborate in the fight against coronavirus

Scientists of Ufa State Aviation Technical University and Bashkir State Medical University carry out joint research during the pandemic.

Today, engineers and doctors are working on the development of personal protective equipment. Doctors are faced with the fact that the applied protective masks and filter elements are not always interchangeable. With sufficient experience in manufacturing parts using 3D printer, the USATU engineers developed a new adapter design using two filters simultaneously. An experienced batch of such adapters is successfully being tested in Ufa hospitals.

Specialists of USATU and BSMU also join forces in the development of mathematical modeling of COVID-19 development. They have created a unique algorithm that allows you to predict the course of the situation in the Republic. Mathematicians do the math, and doctors search for factors that affect the course of the pandemic and track them. The accuracy of the April forecasts was 98%. According to the scientists’ opinion, Bashkortostan should reach the so-called "plateau" (stopping the growth of disease) by the end of the May holidays.
