Valentin Pavlov takes part at the “Second Volga Cancer Congress”

On May 29-30, the Second Volga Cancer Congress was held under the leadership of Andrey Kaprin, the chief freelance oncologist at the Russian Ministry of healthcare. The Ministry of healthcare of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Ministry of healthcare of Bashkortostan were organizers of the Congress.

On the first day of the Congress, Valentin Pavlov, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of RAS, reported on the theme University Clinic – development of cancer services and training of highly qualified personnel.

The Congress included the following program streams:

  • Diagnosis. Genetics. Morphology.
  • Malignant neoplasm of gastrointestinal tract
  • Oncourology
  • Lung cancer
  • Gynecological Oncology
  • Breast cancer

On May 30, the video conference Features of care for cancer patients in conditions of coronavirus infection took place at the Congress. At the video conference Mikhail Murashko, MD, Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, pronounced the welcoming speech. The following leading oncologists of Russia represented their reports at the Congress either:  Prof. Andrey Kaprin, MD, academician of RAS, the chief freelance oncologist at the Russian Ministry of healthcare, General Manager of National Medical Research Radiology Center of the Ministry of Health; Maxim Zabelin, MD, Minister of healthcare of the Republic of Bashkortostan; Andrey Orlov, MD, the chief freelance oncologist at the Ministry of healthcare of Samara region, head physician of Samara Regional Clinical Cancer hospital; Oksana Drapkina, MD, corresponding member of RAS, the chief freelance specialist in Therapy and General Medical Practice of the Ministry of healthcare of RF, head of the National Medical Research Therapy and Preventive Medicine Center, etc.
