In BSMU Clinic arthrosis of the knee joints and stress urinary incontinence is treated with the help of stem cells

This method is minimally invasive, since the procedure of lipofilling (fat sampling) is performed through an incision of 3-5 mm under local anesthesia.

After obtaining adipose tissue by means of centrifugation and specialized syringes, the stromal-vascular fraction is isolated for further injection into the damaged organ or joint, which contributes to the regeneration and vascularization of tissues.

Part of the obtained material is sent to BSMU Cell Culture Laboratory for detailed study of the fraction cell composition and evaluation of the ability to differentiate into different types of tissues.

The method is proposed and applied together with our partner University - the University Clinic of Regensburg, Germany. Professors Lukas Prantl and Wolf Wieland implemented the method.

For mastering techniques and the introduction into science of the University and in the practice of BSMU Clinic Seraphima Maximova, assistant Professor of the Urology department with the Course of the IAPE, urologist of BSMU Clinic, and Timur Bikkuzin, senior researcher of BSMU Cell Culture Laboratory, associate Professor of the Ophthalmology department, trained in the University hospital of Regensburg.
