University Olympiad for students of the Faculty of Dentistry in the section “Restoration of teeth”

On April 23 and 24, 2021, in order to improve the quality of the educational process, develop the intellectual, practical and creative abilities of students, the University Olympiad was held for students of the 3rd and 4th years of the Faculty of Dentistry in the section Dental Restoration. The Olympiad was dedicated to the celebration of the 45th anniversary of BSMU Faculty of Dentistry.

Students prepared phantom teeth, performed aesthetic restorations using modern composite filling materials. The jury consisted of Professor M. F. Kabirova, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Professor L. P. Gerasimova, Head of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry with the course of IAPE, staff of the department and invited members of the jury: R. T. Nugmanova, chief physician of the Ufa self-supporting dental polyclinic, L. R. Khusnutdinova, head of the medical and preventive department of the Republican Dental Polyclinic. Chairman of the Olympiad was Professor M. F. Kabirova and co-chairman was Professor L. P. Gerasimova. The competition was sponsored by companies of Colgate, Curaprox, Rokk, and Dentsply.

Winners among third-year students became:

First prize – Kristina Semenova;

Second prize – Lira Khalilova;

Third prize – Timur Ishmukhametov.

Winners among fourth-year students became:

First prize –  Yarullina Sandugach;

Second prize – Gumerov Raul;

Third prize – Gariev Ilshat.

The Grand Prize of the Olympiad was awarded to Anastasia Marshinskaya, a 4th-year student, by absolute decision of the jury. We congratulate the winners and wish them further success in their studies and professional victories!
