Bashkir State Medical University entered the international rating of Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021


Bashkir State Medical University for the first time entered the THE international rating - Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021 and took the leading positions in the field of achieving individual Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

THE rating is one of the most authoritative university rankings in the world, which since 2004 has been regularly published by the British publication based on the results of its own research.

The Impact Rankings for 2021 assesses universities relative to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) developed in 2015 by the UN General Assembly. Totally 17 interrelated goals were formulated

The impact rating for 2021 is the third edition of this Rating. In total, the overall ranking includes 1117 universities from 94 countries / regions.

The ranking was developed using carefully calibrated indicators to provide a comprehensive and balanced comparison across four broad areas: research, leadership, advocacy, and training.

In the area of promoting SDG 3 - Good Health And Well-Being, BSMU is ranked 53rd in the world. Fifty-six Russian universities are represented in this direction. Among medical universities in Russia, BSMU ranks 2nd after the I. M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (27 in the world). Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (801+ in the world) is also represented in this field from the Republic of Bashkortostan.

In the area of SDG 4 - Quality Education, BSMU ranks 301-400 in the world. Seventy-seven Russian universities participate in this direction. BSMU is on the 17th place among them. Our university leads the ranking in this SDG among medical universities in Russia, followed by Kazan State Medical University (rank 401-600), and in 3rd place - Siberian State Medical University (rank 401-600). Among the universities of the Republic of Bashkortostan, BSMU ranks first, followed by BSU (601-800), USATU (801+) and USPTU (801+).

BSMU also contributes to the achievement of SDG 17-Partnerships for the goals: it ranks 601-800 in the world ranking. In total, 81 Russian universities are represented in the rating for this SDG. BSMU is on the 18th place among them. Among the medical universities of Russia, BSMU is on the 4th place. BSMU leads the ranking in this SDG among the universities of the Republic of Bashkortostan, followed by BSU (801-1000), USATU (1001+) and USPTU (1001+).
