I All-Russian Olympiad with International participation “Operative surgery of the pelvic organs”

On May 7, the First All-Russian Olympiad with international participation Operative Surgery of the pelvic organs was held in the Tyumen State Medical University. It brought together talented students not only from Russia, but also from neighboring countries. Teams from Kazakhstan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Smolensk, Omsk, Cheboksary, Yekaterinburg, and Tyumen took part in the Olympiad.

Participants competed in competitions on:

- Urology

- Gynecology

- Coloproctology

- Children's Surgery

The team of Bashkir State Medical University was represented by students of 4-6 courses of the faculties of General Medicine and Pediatrics, the scientific clubs’ activists of the Departments of Operative Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology with the course of IAPE, Pediatric Surgery and the Surgeskills:

Sabirzyanov Sabir, Magafurov Salavat, Kalanov Bulat, Yanbarisova Aliya, Berdigulova Enzhe, Karaninsky Evgeny, Mudarisova Diana a, Andrew Zodinmavia.

After a long and hard training at the sites of the simulation center of BSMU, the Department of Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery, in the operating rooms under the strict guidance of mentors: Professor Ildar I. Hidiyatov, head of the Department of Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery, Aidar M. Ziganshin, Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with the course of IAPE, Ramil F. Magafurov, head of the BSMU simulation center,  associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of BSMU with the course of IAPE, our team demonstrated a high level of practical and theoretical knowledge. BSMU team took the honorable II place in the team competition.

In addition, the students brilliantly coped with the tasks in their sections and achieved decent results in the individual competition:

Second place in the Urology section. Competition was Intestinal plastic surgery as a method of correction of extended ureteral stricture. Operation Young-Monty (Magafurov S. Yu., Sabirzyanov S. Sh., Kalanov B. R.)

Second place in the Coloproctology section. Competition was Abdominal-anal resection of the rectum with the reduction of the colon, with the formation of a J-shaped reservoir and the restoration of the patency of the intestinal tract (Kalanov B. R., Zodinmavia E., Magafurov S. Yu.)

Second place in the Gynecology section. Competition was Laparoscopic tubectomy by ligature method (Berdigulova E. F., Yanbarisova A. R.)

Fourth place in the Children's Surgery section. (Karaninsky E. V., Mudarisova D. R.)

The Olympiad ended with a solemn awarding ceremony for the winners and all participants. The team has many more Olympiads ahead of it! We wish the participants to show excellent results, move forward and believe in your strength!
