From 21 to 26 July the Faculty of Pharmacy held the Summer Educational School for international students Basics of Pharmaceutical Care. Departments of Pharmacy Management and Economics with the course of medical and pharmaceutical commodity science, Pharmacognosy with the course of botany and the basics of phytotherapy, Pharmaceutical technology with the course in biotechnology and Pharmaceutical chemistry with courses of analytical and toxicological chemistry held case studies on various topics.
Summer Educational School for international students Basics of Pharmaceutical Care aims at enlarging students’ knowledge in future occupation, involving them in the process of practical skills and arising interest to research activity.
The students prepared micro-preparations from medicinal plant raw materials using microscopic analysis and revealed anatomical and diagnostic signs confirming the authenticity of the raw materials. Next, liquid dosage forms were prepared: an infusion of mint and a decoction of oak bark, discussing the main points of difference between these dosage forms.
During the case studies international students learned about peculiarities of production of powders, tinctures, Infusions and decoctions, qualitative analysis of medicines, Production of medicines and their logistics.
Summer Educational School Basics of Pharmaceutical Care allowed international students to acquire the professional skills they need to study in the specialty Pharmacy, and for further work in this field.
