Sergey Chuikin, head of the department of Pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, took part in the 25th Congress of the European Association of Cranio-Maxillo-Fasial Surgery – EACMFS

The European Association of Cranio-Maxillo-Fasial Surgery forum, as always is an enviable office and included 48 lectures (24 were read by full members of the EACMFS with the status "Active" and 24 invited guests EACMFS); 15 symposia and 23 sections.

Sergey Chuikin, Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics with the course of IAPE, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Honored Doctor of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, laureate of the International Humanitarian Award of the World Foundation Congenital Cleft Lip and Palate (ICPF), made his report online in the section Cleft lip and palate on the topic Epidemiology of congenital cleft lip and palate in children.

The range of issues considered at the congress was very diverse. At the same time, the most significant were:

* Orthognathic surgery (8 sections);

* Oral surgery / implantology (5 sections);

* Cleft lip and palate (4 sections);

* Oncology of the head and neck (7 sections);

* Malpharmacia (1 section);

* Surgery of facial skull deformities (4 sections);

* Reconstructive maxillofacial surgery (8 sections);

* Trauma of the maxillofacial region (4 sections);

* Aesthetic, cosmetic and plastic maxillofacial surgery (1 section);

* Issues of pathology of the temporomandibular joint (3 sections);

* Infectious and inflammatory processes / osteonecrosis (2 sections).

Lectures, reports and poster presentations presented in these areas caused the greatest number of questions, discussions and discussions outside the work of the sections, which emphasized the undoubted interest of the audience.

The next 26th Congress of the European Association Cranio-Maxillo-Fasial Surgery - EACMFS will be held on September 27-30 in Madrid, Spain.
