BSMU doctor has received a grant from the Russian Science Fund

Irina A. Mustafina, Associate Professor of the department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases, Candidate of Medical Sciences, doctor of the Department of Cardiovascular and X-ray Surgery, won a grant from the Russian Science Fund (RNF) New predictors of diastolic myocardial dysfunction and adverse cardiovascular events in patients after coronary bypass surgery in the RNF competition Conducting initiative research by young scientists under the guidance of Prof. Naufal Sh. Zagidullin, head of the department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases.

The grant is designed for 2 years (2021-2022) in the amount of 1.5 million rubles per year. The aim of this research is to study the level of expression of a number of microRNAs in epicardial fat and atrial myocardium in the pathogenesis of heart failure with diastolic dysfunction and to improve the stratification of long-term risk of cardiovascular events. The work will be performed at the BSMU Clinic in the Department of Cardiovascular and X-ray surgery.

Irina A. Mustafina defended her PhD in China (Harbin) in 2018 and her PhD thesis in Russia in 2019.
