The II All-Russian Olympiad of students of medical higher educational institutions in microbiology took place

On June 3, 2022, the II All-Russian Olympiad of Students in Microbiology was held on the basis of Bashkir State Medical University

Representatives of 6 universities took part in the Olympiad:

In total, 30 students took part in the Olympiad (5 students in each team).

The objectives of the Olympiad were the development of professional competencies among students in accordance with the real needs of the industry, training for modern medicine, as well as the development of partnership between participating universities.

The event was held in four stages in face-to-face format. At all stages of the Olympiad, the level of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the participants was assessed.

Stage 1 – video presentation (presentation of teams with an indication of the emblem, motto and team names).

Stage 2 – entertainment contest "How microbes control us".

Stage 3 is a theoretical competition, which includes a competition of captains (computer testing), a competition of "Bacteriologists–theorists" and "Virologists-theorists" (solving situational problems).

Stage 4 – practical competition (bacteriological methods: identification of a pure culture of microorganisms and a test for antibiotic sensitivity; virological methods: infection of a chicken embryo, methods of indication and identification of viruses).

 They developed tasks for all stages of the Olympiad, defined criteria and methods for evaluating Olympiad tasks, organized information support for the Olympiad.

Team leaders – teachers of participating universities were included in the jury.

·         The team "Unclean culture" of Bashkir State Medical University.

·         The team "Biotop" of the Tyumen State Medical University.

III PLACE

·         The team "Panacea" of the Maikop State Technological University, Medical Institute.

·         The team 'Aesculapius" of Astrakhan State Medical University.

·         The team "Endemics" of the North-Eastern Federal University, Medical Institute.

The winners are awarded diplomas depending on the results achieved. The other teams received diplomas in the nominations. Each student participating in the Olympiad received a certificate.

University rectors, department heads and team leaders were awarded letters of thanks.
