Film screening for international students of BSMU

It is difficult to overestimate the educational potential of the educational process, because in the process of learning, not only the professional qualities of a specialist are formed, but also his value orientations. That is why the training of foreign students at BSMU involves both educational activities and active educational, social and educational work. Discussions, excursions, visits to museums, galleries and theaters are regularly held with children from other countries, and, of course, film screenings organized in the contours of the cultural demands of the time, at which students, participating in interactive activities, become not just spectators, but co-authors of the meeting.

So, in October, a film screening was held dedicated to the Teacher's Day and organized by the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication and the Dean's Office of the International Faculty. The Indian film "Hichki" ("I am a teacher") was shown. Students from India were able to plunge into familiar realities from childhood, and children from other countries had the opportunity to get acquainted with a different culture and life of their classmates and friends. Such moments contribute to the rapprochement of students and a better understanding of each other. During the screening, the students practiced their Russian language: auditory and semantic skills. To train the perception of new vocabulary and its use, students were offered a special dictionary in the game format of the Quizlet Internet resource before the screening, and after the film, the children could test their understanding in a quiz - all linguistic support was previously prepared by teachers of the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication.

The film "Hichki" was also chosen for a motivational purpose, because it is a movie about life, family and relationships between parents and children, about friendship, about a teacher and his role in a person's life, about gratitude, inspiration and dreams, about love for the profession. A very warm and kind movie that briefly brought students back to their school years, allowed them to recall their experiences and their school teachers, has a strong motivational beginning. The story of the main character teaches you to boldly meet your dream and work hard to succeed in the profession. More than a hundred students from different countries and cultures attended the film screening. Such events are always aimed at fostering feelings, kind and bright, and also aimed at awakening thoughts by the power of art.

And our film screening was the next step towards the final result of pedagogical activity - the development of a holistic personality of the student. After all, harmony of heart and thought is important in life, then the person himself and his actions will be beautiful.
