The delegation of BSMU took part in the 11th Conference of the Emirates Urological Society and the 18th Conference of the Pan-Arab Continence Society

From October 28 to October 31, 2022, in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, a delegation of BSMU consisting of: Rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Urology Valentin Nikolaevich Pavlov, Head of the Oncology Department of the BSMU Clinic, Associate Professor M.F. Urmantsev, Head of the Urology Department of the BSMU Clinic A.O. Papoyan, Head of the International Department R.V. Abdrakhimov and a student The 2nd year Faculty of Medicine Negin Mohadam Hassani took part in the 11th Conference of the Emirates Urological Society and the 18th Conference of the Pan-Arab Continence Society.

Besides urologists, gynecologists, andrologists, general practitioners, pharmacologists, biologists, chemotherapists and other specialists from far and near abroad took part in the conference. Such a variety of doctors is quite understandable by the topic of the conference, in which the modern problems of diagnosis and surgical treatment of urological and oncourological diseases were discussed.

The speakers of the conference were heads and employees of leading research centers in the Middle East, Europe, Asia, North and East Africa.

Valentin Pavlov moderated the section "Achievements in urology and innovations/uro-technologies" and presented the report "Robotic radical cystectomy: surgical technique, perioperative and oncological results after 200 cases".

Student Negin Mohadam Hassani made a poster presentation "Analysis of cystic fibrosis diseases in Iran and Russia", and it was recognized as the best poster presentation in the section of young scientists.

Also within the framework of the conference, meetings were held with representatives of the medical community of the UAE, at which issues of cooperation in the field of urology, oncology, ophthalmology, a recruitment program for foreign students were discussed, within which the advantages of studying at BSMU were presented. In addition, it was agreed to train young Arab urologists on the basis of BSMU in laparoscopic, endourological and robotic urology programs.
