The competitions were held on November 9-11, 2022 in St. Petersburg. More than 100 athletes from fourteen regions of the country took part in it. The national team of Bashkortostan universities in mas-wrestling was represented by 17 students of BSMU, USNTU, USATU and BSU. The team was represented by the head of the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU Ruslan Gainullin and the teacher of the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU, mas-wrestling coach Ilgam Ishmukhametov.
The BSMU mas-wrestling team showed willpower, high skill and won prizes:
3rd place Veronica Lorena Perez (up to 65 kg; L-307A);
3rd place Buludyan Milena (up to 85 kg; L-423B);
3rd place Ibrahim Ahmed (up to 90 kg; L 204 B in)
3rd place Gimranov Ainur (up to 105kg; L-617A);
3rd place Alade Samuel Adeola (up to 75 kg; L-402B in);
3rd place Azaliya Muzipova (up to 75 kg; P 202 B)
In the team competition, the BSMU team from 28 universities took second place. Alade Samuel was awarded a special prize in the nomination "Best athlete".
The best athletes were awarded medals, and the nominees were awarded mammoth tusk figurines symbolizing mas wrestlers. The figurines were made by Yakut craftsmen by special order of the organizers.
As part of the competition, a round table was held, where Northeastern Federal University, the All-Russian Mas-Wrestling Federation and the Russian Student Sports Union signed an agreement on the establishment of the Mas-Wrestling Student League Association. The round table was attended by: Advisor to the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Roman Olkhovsky, Rector of NEFU Anatoly Nikolaev, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in St. Petersburg Yuri Kravtsov, President of the All-Russian Mas-Wrestling Federation Mikhail Gulyaev. Universities of the Republic of Bashkortostan were represented by: Ruslan Gainullin, Head of the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU, and Ilgam Ishmukhametov, teacher of the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU, mas-wrestling coach of BSMU.
The purpose of the league is to increase the prestige of mas–wrestling at the federal and international levels, holding All-Russian and international championships among students in stages – starting with their own tournaments in universities and federal districts. Plans for the development of student sports are fixed in the Intersectoral Program for the Development of Student Sports until 2024. The program provides for the implementation of a set of measures in the main areas of physical culture and sports work by students.
Open All-Russian competitions among students were held for the first time. The organizer is the Northeastern Federal University.
Mas-wrestling in the student environment of the Republic of Bashkortostan is one of the actively developing sports. The basic university of the republic is the Bashkir State Medical University, where more than 100 students are engaged. In 2022, medical students became winners and prize-winners of the World Mass wrestling Championship in Yakutia, prize-winners of the Russian Championship and winners of the PFD competitions. The first Republic Cup among universities was organized on the basis of BSMU.
