International Student Olympiad in Bukhara

Our students took part online on March 9-10, 2023 in the International Student Subject Olympiad of Medical Universities "From the teachings of Abu Ali ibn Sino to the Third Renaissance". The organizer was the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, Bukhara, Republic of Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the Student Olympiad was to popularize knowledge in various areas of medicine, to create opportunities for students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, to engage in innovative activities and use their potential as future medical professionals.

The Olympiad was held in 42 subjects in the areas of "Medical care", "Dentistry", "Fundamental Sciences", in three languages - Uzbek, Russian, English.

More than 1,500 students representing more than 30 higher medical educational institutions of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the International Olympiad of Medical Students. The answers of the Olympiad participants were evaluated by international juries.

The Olympiad was held in three stages:

·         Test tests.

·         Solving situational problems, clinical cases.

·         Assessment of the implementation of practical skills.

The Bashkir State Medical University was represented by a team of students led by Professor of the Department of Neurology Leyla Rinatovna Akhmadeeva. 

The team included 4th-year students of the Faculty of Medicine: Zelimkhan Chagaev, Dinara Mulloyarova, third-year student of the Faculty of Medicine Danil Mingazov (2nd place in the microbiology section), 5th-year students of the Faculty of Medicine: Irina Asfandiyarova (2nd place in the oncology section), Alsu Sharipova, Eleonora Sultanova, Vladislav Baklanov (3rd place in the traumatology section), Anastasia Arapova, as well as for the first time our university was represented by students of the international faculty (Dean - Rasul Farshatov), speaking in English and bringing prizes to our university. Thus, a fourth-year student from India, Arushi Gupta, took 3rd place among 248 online and offline participants from different countries in the neurology section.

According to the results of the Olympiad, our participants also won in the nominations "Best practical thinking", "Resourcefulness and concreteness in answers", etc.

The International Student Subject Online Olympiad of Medical University Students held by the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University will undoubtedly contribute to improving the quality of medical personnel training and the broad involvement of students in research activities.
