Foreign students at the Mother Tongue Day

"How many languages do you know - how many times are you a person," said A.P. Chekhov. You can't argue with these words, because knowledge of a foreign language opens up a whole world for the speaker, and the more languages are preserved and developed, the richer the intellectual potential, because language is both a reflection of a way of thinking and the very instrument of their embodiment. Therefore, special attention is paid to the development of languages at our university. The bright event of the end of winter was the marathon of master classes of foreign languages "LinguaTrip", dedicated to the Mother Tongue Day and organized by the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication and the Dean's Office of the International Faculty. Two days, thirty master classes, fourteen languages, including Hindi, French, Spanish, as well as rare languages, such as Dravidian, Dari, Urdu, more than four hundred participants from different parts of the world, united by our university and the desire to plunge into the world of another language, learn new things, increase your communication capabilities. For two days, everyone could attend any master classes, start learning Persian, Arabic, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Kurdish and many other languages. The children learned to write and speak, studied graphics and phonetics, got acquainted in Spanish and confessed their love in French, sang "Suliko" in Georgian and read Persian poetry, tried to master Tamazightsky and discuss the coming spring in Indonesian…We thank all the organizers, students who prepared and conducted master classes, participants and guests of the marathon and invite you to the International Festival of Languages with no less interesting master classes, research in the field of language, culture and medical linguistics, photo biennale. "Poetry of the frame" and other interesting events that awaits our students already in March.
