Foreign students of BSMU celebrated Victory Day

And we remember… Preserving the memory in lines about the war, human suffering and exploits that the world has not seen before, the decisive role of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers in the victory over an unthinkable evil, to return to which it seemed impossible, our foreign students protect and preserve the legacy of the generation of winners, not allowing to revise the great history of the great Victory.

On May 12, foreign students and the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication of BSMU gathered in the musical and literary living room "Spring on the Keys of Victory", dedicated to the 78th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. The poetry evening was held in order to foster love and respect for Russia and its history, carefully preserve historical memory and motivate to study Russian as a foreign language.

The students reacted with great interest and enthusiasm to the creative meeting: more than 150 readers, singers and artists from foreign students and more than five hundred spectators took part in it. The event was held at three venues: in the lecture halls of buildings No. 3 and No. 8, as well as in the conference hall of the library. The contestants recited poems by Russian and foreign poets, sang songs, showed dance numbers and dramatic productions about the Great Patriotic War and the Great Victory.

Students could take part in full-time and distance formats, therefore, in addition to live performances, the jury of the competition also evaluated video works. The distance format allowed participants of universities in other countries to show their talents to the audience of Bashkir State Medical University. Thus, students of the Northeastern University of Shenyang (China) joined the celebration of Victory Day.

According to the results of the voting, the best performances were selected at each competition site:

First place — Suman Yatnatti Mahantesh (L113A IN), Hamdan Ruwaida and Hussein Abdallah (Preparatory Faculty), Kasha Nur El Huda (Preparatory Faculty);

Second place — students of group L-103A IN, Kapukanya Darrick (preparatory faculty), Kasha Nur El Islam (preparatory faculty);

Third place — Faiz Akram (L128B IN), Amasha Amar (ST 105A) and Amasha Omar (ST108B), Almasri Majd (L-101B IN).

All the winners were awarded diplomas and memorable prizes. And the most important thing is that each of those present realized once again that remembering and honoring the feat of the Soviet people was not just a natural movement of our heart, today it is our duty. In the face of those who fought for you and me:

"Remember each of them by name, in grief... Those memories are not for those who died! They are for those who live!"
