Students and faculty of BSMU became participants and prize-winners of IX Ufa International Marathon

The competition was held on September 3, 2023 in Ufa. More than 7 thousand athletes and running fans from 26 countries, 42 regions, 300 cities took part in it. Including students and faculty of BSMU. More than 80 students of our university, including foreign students, took part in the competition.

Participants ran on a choice of distances of 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, 21,1 km and 42,2. A children's race for 50-200 m was organized.

At the competition the team of BSMU was represented by students and faculty. At the start came out: Artur Mustafin, vice-rector for educational and social work of BSMU, Ruslan Gaynullin, head of the Department of Physical Education of BSMU, Marsel Tuigunov, head of the Department of Microbiology, Virology Professor Marsel Tuigunov, Chairman of the Sports Club of BSMU Rail Abzalilov, senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Culture Ilnar Salavatov, assistant of the Department of Therapy and Nursing with Patient Care Aelita Alyaeva, lecturers of the Department of Physical Culture Ilgam Ishmukhametov, Aidar Zakiev and students. All our representatives performed well and showed good results. Ilgam Ishmukhametov, a teacher of the Department of Physical Education, became a prize-winner at distances of 2 and 5 km. BSMU student El Hiresh (L-308B in) became a prize-winner at the distance of 5 km and entered the top five in the absolute age category. BSMU students Gulnaz Yulmukhametova (L-502B) and Aliya Khalikova (L-508A) ran the distance of 10 km. Some of our colleagues came as families.

The participants ran through the historical part of the Bashkir capital along the main sights - Salavat Yulaev monument, Congress Hall, Fountain, "Ufa-Arena" and Mustai Karim monument. The winners and runners-up were awarded with commemorative medals and prizes.

It is gratifying that representatives of BSMU annually take an active part and become participants and prize-winners of Ufa International Marathon.
