Foreign students of BSMU - winners and prize-winners of the International Mas-Wrestling Tournament in Vladivostok within the framework of the VIII Eastern Economic Forum

The competitions were held on September 10-13, 2023 within the framework of the VIII Eastern Economic Forum. The opening ceremony was attended by: Senator of the Russian Federation, President of the International Mas Wrestling Federation Alexander Akimov; Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Leonid Spiridonov; Director General of the Joint Stock Company "Yakutia Railways" Vasily Shimokhin. The competitions were visited by Oleg Matytsin, Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation. Athletes from 20 countries of the world, including BSMU students, took part in the competitions. Students of our university acted in the prestigious tournament as a part of the national team of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Coaches are Ruslan Gainullin, the head of the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU and Ilgam Ishmukhametov, the teacher of the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU.

The International Mas Wrestling Tournament is traditionally held as part of the sports program of the Eastern Economic Forum on the territory of Russky Island. This year it was held for the fifth time.

Students from different countries of the world fought for the possession of the coveted wooden stick "mas" with rare persistence. The students of our university showed their willpower, high skill and became winners and prize-winners of the competition.

Men

3rd place - Ibrahim Magd Diyab Salem (L-301 B).

Women

3rd place - Veronica Lorena Perez (L-405 A IN);

3rd place - Shakhlo Hakimova ((L-516 B).

In team competitions on mas-wrestling students of BSMU as a part of Bashkiria national team took the third place.
