Foreign students of BSMU discussed the role of languages in the modern world with medical students from Samarkan

On April 29, a joint meeting of the student scientific council between the Department of Uzbek Language and Literature with Russian language of Samarkand State Medical University (Samarkand, Uzbekistan) and the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication of BSMU was held. The event was devoted to the theme "The role of languages in the modern world".

Oksana Galimova, Acting Head of the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication of BSMU, and Shakhlo Jamaldinova, Head of the Department of Uzbek Language and Literature with Russian Language of SamSMU, made welcoming speeches.

- We gladly accepted the invitation of Samarkand State Medical University to participate in the organization of a joint meeting of the student scientific society. We were very attracted by the format of the meeting. Usually our students make reports at conferences, round tables, where a large number of participants is envisaged. Representatives of the Samarkand university offered us to hold the meeting in a mobile format - online. We saw that students have approximately the same level of training, they have common interests. For students, participation in such events is an opportunity to hone their public speaking skills, to be inspired by new ideas, to meet new people, to find new approaches and solutions to existing problems, - comments Oksana Galimova, Acting Head of the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication.

More than 20 fourth-year students of the International Faculty of General Medicine and Dentistry from Bashkir State Medical University took part in the session. International students also presented their scientific reports. El Alami El Mshashti Yasmin spoke about French loanwords in Arabic, Chegini Mohammadchaid presented a report on "Exploring the effectiveness of blended learning in language education: a meta-analysis of empirical studies".

Representatives of Samarkand State Medical University also prepared a series of reports. Mamatkulov Shehruz Mamatkulov, a student of medical faculty of SamSMU, made a report on the importance of Russian language in medical education, Umeda Ismoilova, a student of pediatrics faculty of SamSMU, told about difficult phenomena of Russian language arising in the process of education.

The joint session was organized by Nigora Irbutayeva, assistant of the Department of Uzbek Language and Literature with Russian language of SamSMU.
