Scientific residency program for Russian and foreign students starts at BSMU

Bashkir State Medical University is launching a scientific residency program for foreign students. Rector of BSMU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Valentin Pavlov spoke about the conditions of the new program when communicating with foreign graduate students.

The heads of scientific laboratories of BSMU also addressed the future residents. Galina Rozit told about the activity of the laboratory of small target molecules search. The laboratory coordinates, provides and performs research, educational and innovative work in priority areas of pharmaceutical science with subsequent transfer to the pilot GxP site for preclinical and clinical trials.

Mars Galautdinov, Head of the Laboratory of Additive Technologies, told about the ongoing complexes of laboratory and biomedical tests of ceramic materials, which will later be used in reconstructive surgery, traumatology and orthopedics, oncology, neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery and other areas. Digital models and computer modeling of biological processes of interaction of ceramic implants with cells and tissues - engraftment of foreign body and body tissues - are also being tested here.

Foreign students were also shown the laboratory of human microbiome, where fundamental and applied scientific research is carried out using modern molecular genetic methods in areas related to the problems of microbiome of healthy people and patients in various pathological conditions.
