UAE scientist develops medical science in Russia within the framework of close cooperation with BSMU

Russia and the United Arab Emirates are strengthening their cooperation. Recently, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Russian Federation Mohammad Ahmad Al Jaber. On the agenda was the development of cooperation in the fight against cancer.

Responding to the challenges of the time, Bashkir State Medical University actively develops international cooperation, expands opportunities and vectors of interaction with foreign partners.

"For me, Russia has forever been, is and will be a second homeland. I came here when I was only 17 years old. I studied and developed here. Science and technology are very well developed in the Russian Federation. I always tried to connect professors of the Arab Emirates and professors of Russia, Bashkiria. We held various conferences and scientific and educational events. And we managed to show that Russia has good doctors and science is developed at the highest level," shared Dr. Emad Iyad.

Emad Iyad also gives lectures to BSMU students, conducts master classes and teaches practical part in the operating room of BSMU Clinic - medical students watch the subtleties of work online. Such exchange of experience allows mastering new global techniques.

"The republic has a very strong urological school thanks to Valentin Nikolayevich Pavlov. He develops science, urology and does all this at the highest level. I have been coming to Bashkir State Medical University since 2018. My goal is to get new competencies, knowledge from Valentin Nikolayevich and other colleagues, to pass this knowledge to students and support them", Dr. Emad Iyad, a surgeon, urologist from the UAE, associate professor of the Department of Urology at BSMU.

The development of medical science also creates opportunities for cooperation on joint scientific developments, the Russian Ministry of Health noted.
