Scientists of “Ufa Eye Research Institute” became participants of the conference of the Indian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons

Ufa Eye Research Institute takes an active part in scientific life not only at the conferences of leading domestic ophthalmological centers, but also far beyond the borders of Russia.

From August 2 to 4, 2024 the scientific and practical conference of the Indian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ISCRS) was held in New Delhi.

Taking into account that Indian science is a significant part of the world ophthalmologic science, traditionally such conferences are very popular not only among Indian ophthalmologists, but also among specialists from various countries - North and South America, Europe, Asia.

The Russian delegation, which included the Ufa Eye Research Institute of FSBEI HE BSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia, also took part in the work of this scientific event.

Within the framework of the conference more than 350 reports and messages, various lectures of leading specialists were presented. Wet-lab, Live Surgery were organized, which allowed the conference participants to get acquainted with modern achievements of ophthalmological science.

Head of the cornea and lens surgery department of the Ufa Eye Research Institute, Candidate of Medical Sciences Emin Usubov presented the results of many years of work devoted to the fundamental aspects of keratoconus treatment by ultraviolet crosslinking. Ufa Eye Research Institute was the first to introduce this technology in the Russian Federation and remains in the forefront among ophthalmic centers in the treatment of keratoconus.

For his contribution to the development of ophthalmologic science E.L. Usubov was awarded a personal award of the Indian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

The conference was held in a friendly atmosphere and allowed not only to familiarize with the achievements of the world science, but also to show the high level of Russian ophthalmology.
