University scientists, together with a leading world-renowned scientist, begin work on projects in the field of biomedicine

The world-famous scientist Oleg Nikolaevich Demidov is visiting the University for the second time. On the first visit of the scientist, an acquaintance with the scientific potential of the university took place and points of interaction were outlined.

Oleg Nikolaevich Demidov - group leader at the University of Burgundy and the National Institute of Health and Medical Research INSERM (France), leading researcher at the Institute of Cytology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg), Doctor of Medical Sciences. Dmitry Pyshny - Director of the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine of the SB RAS (Novosibirsk), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Chemical Sciences.

In the second visit of Oleg Nikolaevich, specific options for cooperation were discussed.

Scientists of Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia, together with a professor, initiated scientific research that will become part of existing projects of the university: the project "Alternative materials for creating matrigel" is planned to be implemented in the laboratories of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine. The project dedicated to trained immunity in BCG resistive bladder cancer will be implemented at the Institute of Urology and Clinical Oncology of the Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health Russia.

The fundamental task of the latter project is to compare markers of trained immunity with the effectiveness of BCG therapy in patients with bladder cancer to understand the mechanisms of BCG resistance

"I am impressed by the level and energy that seethes with the scientists of Ufa. I will say that this is quite a rarity. I work a lot with schoolchildren and from school I try to instill in children a love of scientific research and experimental work in the field of biomedicine. And so I know that we have a lot of nuggets all over the country. I was pleasantly surprised that they did not need to go somewhere to realize their ambitions. In such a regional center as Ufa, thanks to federal programs, the level of science has increased and it has become possible for young people to feel that they are working on the most modern equipment. Biomedical science is international. We have to share experiences. The University has great prospects to become one of the largest international centers," Oleg Nikolaevich Demidov said.

Oleg Nikolaevich lectured for two days for Russian and foreign students of Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia, answered questions and discussed the development of modern biomedicine.
