The delegation of the Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases demonstrated its potential at the Congress of the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmologists in India.
Led by the director, prof. Muharram Bikbov, Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases, attended the 40th Congress of the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmologists (APAO) in conjunction with the 83rd Annual Conference of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS).
About 14,000 people from different countries took part in the Congress.
The scientific program of the conference was rich and touched on topical issues of ophthalmology.
Employees of the Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases presented 5 reports in English:

5. Bikbov M.M. «Prevalence and associated factors of cataract and cataract-related blindness in the Ural Eye and Medical Study».
The participants were interested in the Quiz, where ophthalmologists from all over the world tested their knowledge. Specialists demonstrated practical skills at Wetlab courses. As a part of the Congress, a medical exhibition was held, which presented developments in the field of ophthalmology, in particular, the latest microscopes, OCT devices, fundus cameras, etc.
At the personal invitation of the Director of the Eye Institute Radhika Tondon, the delegation of the Ufa Research Institute visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) together with doctors from the UK, Australia, Japan got acquainted with the work of the ophthalmological service. Meetings were held regarding mutual cooperation and building long-term professional relationships.
The APAO 2025 Congress provided opportunities for establishing cooperation and building long-term professional relationships with foreign colleagues.
