Ophthalmologists of BSMU demonstrated their potential at a forum in China

The 13th Russian-Chinese Academic Ophthalmological Forum was held at Harbin Medical University (China).

The scientific program included more than 70 reports, in speeches and discussions, experts from China, Russia and the United States shared practices and technologies.

Our scientists presented reports in English:

- M.R. Kalanov — Head of Operations Unit of All-Russian Center for Eye and Plastic Surgery, Candidate of Medical Sciences: «Modern approach to vitreoretinal surgery in proliferative diabetic retinopathy»;

- Kurbanov S.A. - Head of the educational part of the Higher School of Regenerative, Eye and Plastic Surgery, Candidate of Medical Sciences: «Surgical management of glaucoma: use of antiglaucoma drainage»;

- E.R. Shammasova - Head of Organizational and Methodological Department of All-Russian Center for Eye and Plastic Surgery, Candidate of Medical Sciences: Exporting medical services at the Russian Center for Eye and Plastic Surgery»;

- E.Z. Bulatova - ophthalmologist of the ophthalmological department No. 4 of  All-Russian Center for Eye and Plastic Surgery: «Our experience with Micropulse Cyclophotocoagulation in glaucoma».

The forum was attended by about 90,000 leading specialists from China and Russia: scientists, doctors, teachers of medical universities, developers of medical equipment.

As a result of the forum, a plan was adopted for cooperation in the field of ophthalmology as a part of the Belt and Road Initiative, aimed at developing innovations, training qualified personnel and creating a multi-level partner network to promote ophthalmological knowledge and technologies among the general population.
