BSMU Signed Cooperation Agreements with Kyrgyz Universities at the Russian-Kyrgyz Forum

On September 23 and 24, the II Russian-Kyrgyz Educational Forum (RKEF-2025) took place in Bishkek, uniting rectors, vice-rectors, and deans from leading universities in Kyrgyzstan and Russia to enhance humanitarian ties. The forum featured participation from 65 universities across both nations.

A key event was the meeting of the Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Medical Universities, established in 2024, where participants reviewed the accomplishments of the past year and outlined cooperation plans for 2025-2026.

Discussions during the plenary session focused on expanding academic mobility for students and faculty, initiating new research projects, and enhancing the international standing of participating universities.

Indira Kudaibergenova, Rector of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbayeva, highlighted the significance of the forum:

«The Russian-Kyrgyz Educational Forum has become a vital platform for strengthening scientific and academic ties. Today, we not only explore prospects for joint projects but also lay the groundwork for a unified educational space that will enable us to train world-class specialists and enhance the competitiveness of our universities».

A particularly engaging round table titled «Internationalization and Export of Medical Education in Russia and Kyrgyzstan» featured representatives from BSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia, including Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Natalia Kudashkina, Head of the Educational Methodical Department Alevtina Melnikova, Professor of Neurology Leila Akhmadeeva, and Head of the Educational Component at the Higher School of Regenerative, Eye and Plastic Surgery Sadyrbek Kurbanov.

During the forum, agreements were signed between:

• BSMU and Central Asian International Medical University
• BSMU and Osh State University

Additionally, an exhibition showcasing Russian higher education was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after Yeltsin. This exhibition was part of the RKEF and the quota campaign for admitting foreign students to Russian universities. The Russian Federation allocated 700 budget places for applicants from Kyrgyzstan. Representatives from agricultural, engineering, IT, and medical universities from cities such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kostroma, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Ufa, and others participated in the RKEF exhibition.
