BSMU team - silver medalist of the university sports festival among foreign students of Russian universities

The I All-Russian Festival of University Sports among foreign students of Russian universities has ended in Saransk.

In the capital of Mordovia, teams from nine Russian universities competed: BSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Mordovia State University, Mordovian State Pedagogical University, BFU named after I. Kant, Ulyanovsk State University, TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin, medical universities of Yaroslavl, Orenburg, Kazan.

The team of our University was represented by students from the Republic of India. The team was accompanied by Elvir Galimovich Usmanov, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Culture of BSMU.

Foreign students competed in 7 sports: futsal, cricket, table tennis, badminton, chess, 4 × 200 meters relay and tug of war.

Our students won prizes in several disciplines. In the team event, the BSMU team took second place.

The festival showed the interest of foreign students in sports and active university life. Such competitions contribute to the strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between representatives of different countries.

The sports team of BSMU expresses its deep gratitude to the rector of BSMU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Pavlov Valentin Nikolaevich for the opportunity given to students to participate in All-Russian and international competitions.
