The Academic Council was held in Lecture Hall of Building 8 of Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU), bringing together the University’s academic and scientific community.
During the session, graduate students were ceremonially awarded their diplomas, and distinguished medical professionals were honored for their outstanding achievements in science and clinical practice.
Special guests of the Academic Council were leading ophthalmologists from France:
- Professor at the Rothschild Foundation Clinic, French Institute of Myopia, Eye Institute L.V. Prasad, researcher at the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Heidelberg, Honorary Professor of Ufa Eye Resaearch Disease, Chairman of the Institute of Clinical and Scientific Ophthalmology and Acupuncture in Heidelberg Songomitr Panda-Jonas. She is one of the most cited and respected women researchers in the world. Her lectures are a concentrate of relevant scientific data and unique clinical observations that cannot be found in any medical textbook
- Professor, member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, Honorary Director of the Beijing Institute for Visual and Translational Eye Research, Professor at the Rothschild Foundation Hospital, Singapore Eye Research Institute, Singapore National Eye Center, L. V. Prasad Eye Research Institute, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Chinese University of Hong Kong Yost Jonas. An internationally recognized innovative scientist, ophthalmologist and teacher, whose name is synonymous with advanced diagnostic and treatment methods.
As a part of major international projects, Professor Jost Jonas actively cooperates with the director of the Ufa Eye Research Institute Mukharram Bikbov. Joint research is underway, resulting in numerous publications in highly rated ophthalmology journals. And at a business dinner with the rector of BSMU, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professor Valentin Pavlov, colleagues from France expressed interest in strengthening this cooperation.
