The spring semester of the current academic year has begun, and students, having returned from their holidays, enthusiastically took part in international academic mobility programmes. This week, Professor Leila Akhmadeeva from the Department of Neurology held classes jointly with colleagues from partner universities in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Professor Namatzhon Mamasaliev from Andijan came to Ufa, while Professor Gulnora Rakhimbayeva from Tashkent delivered her lectures online to our students. Both colleagues are Doctors of Medical Sciences and heads of departments at leading universities in Uzbekistan.
The students were greatly impressed by the clinical cases and patient analyses covering various neurological and somato‑neurological conditions, which were presented together with the foreign instructors. Fourth‑year students asked questions and participated in lively discussions, including those on multimorbid patients and recent publications.
We would like to remind you that last week Professor Namatzhon Mamasaliev also gave an in‑person presentation at the youth scientific conference «Science and Publications for Students», organised jointly with the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan (http://www.anrb.ru/blog/Item/7696/7). In his speech, he emphasised the importance of collaboration, as well as the skills of reading and writing scientific articles. He illustrated his points with examples from literature and his own data. The professor has extensive experience in several medical specialties — neurology, therapy, cardiology, gerontology, and preventive medicine.
The Department of Neurology is one of the departments at Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU) that is most actively involved in both incoming and outgoing inter‑university international academic mobility programmes. These initiatives expand opportunities and enhance motivation for faculty members and students from different countries.
