The University Held a Joint Series of Neurology Sessions with Universities in Belarus and Uzbekistan

Students from groups L(In)401 A and B took part in international inter‑university academic mobility program in neurology. Experienced neurologists from partner universities of Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU) delivered online lectures and problem‑based training sessions:

·Professor Markhamat Yakubova from Tashkent State Medical University (Uzbekistan);

·Natalya Usova, Head of the Department at Gomel State Medical University (Belarus).

In one of the training sessions, students from Tashkent also participated, presenting several fascinating clinical cases in English, along with their own algorithm for examining patients with cerebral stroke.

Fourth‑year BSMU students from 12 countries in Asia and Africa highly appreciated the opportunity to study and engage in live communication with educators and learners from various countries throughout the course. They asked questions not only about neurology but also about educational systems, and shared opinions and data on medicine and neurology in their respective countries.

Three of the most engaged students took part in a clinical case discussion of a 14‑year‑old patient with a rare parasitic spinal cord disease. This case was presented by a young neurologist from Ethiopia during a teleconference as part of the NIRVE series, organised by the University of Toronto (Canada) on March 5, 2026.

The project lead from BSMU is Professor Leila Akhmadeeva from the Department of Neurology.
