The Bashkir State Medical University hosted the International Language Festival. Every year the event is organized by the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication for foreign students of BSMU and other Russian universities.
This year, 131 participants from BSMU and 61 participants from other universities took part in the Festival, including UUST, Izhevsk College of Railway Transport, Volsk Military University of Material Support, Saratov State Medical University, Alabuga Polytech, Lebedev Russian State University of Justice.
The International Festival of Languages was held in three formats: a scientific conference, master classes and creative performances. At the conference, students presented the results of their research on medical linguistics and linguoculturology. The range of topics chosen by foreign students demonstrates their interest not only in their native culture, but also in the cultural characteristics of Russia and its peoples. Reports were presented by students of 1-4 courses in the specialties "General Medicine" and "Dentistry" and guests from UUST.

At the master classes, the contestants taught the audience their native languages, national dances and cuisine, folk games, sign language, stress regulation, photography and much more. The contestants actively interacted with the audience, danced together, learned important phrases in different languages and tried to play traditional Indian games.

The creative competition is always very popular with our students. After all, it is here that they demonstrate their talents in recitation of poems, singing, acting and choreography. This year, the guys performed works of Russian classics and contemporary poets and composers in Russian, English and their native languages. The creative competition revealed new talents: for the first time, freshmen who began to learn the language more recently performed here.
