The experience of developing the BSMU Clinic is presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum - the main business event in Russia - is held from June 3 to 6 under the motto "Pragmatic dialogue - the way to a stable future."

This year, the program focuses on technology, medicine, AI, and Saudi Arabia became a guest country.

Within the framework of SPIEF-2026, more than 150 sessions are held, which are combined in thematic areas. Among them are "World Economy: Between Confrontation and Cooperation," "Russian Economy: Structural Changes to Return to the Growth Trajectory," "Human-Centered: New Paradigm and Development Technologies," "Environment for Life: New Technologies - a New Quality," "Technologies that Determine the Future" and others.

The event is attended by about 20,000 participants from more than 130 countries. Among them is the delegation of the Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia under the leadership of the rector, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professor Valentin Pavlov.

"Traditionally, new projects are discussed at the forum sites, which will also start within the framework of the programs of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Our university is actively involved in all federal key projects. And today we already have the opportunity to move from the track of innovation, educational, scientific, to the track of creating innovative industries. We are completing the construction of the Institute of Translational Medicine, a new design and production site for the republic, where personalized vaccines will be developed and used for our patients very soon. We also pay great attention to the development of artificial intelligence in medicine and healthcare. At the site of the St. Petersburg Forum, we are discussing the opening of a digital department on the basis of our Genomic Center together with Sechenov University, where our students will receive advanced competencies in the field of digital and IT technologies. With Sirius University, we are discussing a project to develop new advanced drug technologies. It is important that today we have every opportunity to discuss not just import substitution, but projects of technological leadership," said Valentin Pavlov.

At the panel session "Technologies that determine the future. The role of university clinics in the innovative development of medicine: foreign and Russian experience" Valentin Nikolaevich presented the experience of the BSMU Clinic in the development of innovative medicine.

"Today, our university clinic is not only a center of medical competence. This is a center where scientists and researchers work, where advanced medical science is created that will create a powerful impetus for the development of medicine. For the second year, we have been implementing a unique educational project that helps us train research scientists - a scientific residency program integrated into classical residency. Thanks to the development of the research track at the university, the University became one of the organizations of the Scientific and Technological Center for the Development of mRNA Technologies," said Valentin Pavlov.
