Within the framework of the memorandum between the West Kazakhstan Medical University named after Marat Ospanov and the Bashkir State Medical University, 11 students from Kazakhstan came to Ufa for the practical course "Practice of therapeutic profile." From June 6 to June 14, fourth-year students mastered practical skills at the University's clinical bases. "Students from Kazakhstan demonstrated an excellent level of theoretical training, discipline and interest in obtaining new knowledge. They actively participated in the work of the departments and took the initiative. Despite the peculiarities of educational programs, the basic principles of training are very similar, which allows students to successfully master the practice program. In hospital No. 18, students gained experience in real clinical departments, improved their skills in communicating with patients, collecting complaints and anamnesis, conducting an objective examination, analyzing the results of examinations and drawing up medical documentation. I am sure that they will take with them not only new knowledge and practical skills, but also valuable experience in the team of a medical organization, which will be useful in their further professional development," practice curator Igor Banshin said.
First of all, student delegations from Kazakhstan came to practice at the Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia in order to expand their horizons in the field of health care, as well as for cultural exchange. Students note that the Bashkir State Medical University has created comfortable conditions for internship.
"Being in practice at BSMU, I felt safe and comfortable. The medical staff of Hospital No. 13 provided us with all the opportunities for full-fledged practice. Students of the Bashkir State Medical University tried to help us as much as possible. We have developed a very warm relationship with our practice leader. She was always ready to help us and suggest. I have gained invaluable experience in this practice, and I am grateful to my university and BSMU for this opportunity. I will definitely come again if we have such an opportunity," Saule Melsova said.
"We came to practice with the aim of gaining precious experience, comparing the systems of our countries in the field of medicine, in order to derive the greatest benefit from this. The doctors at the hospital were responsive, friendly, they described clinical cases for us in detail. I got a lot of experience here. I will definitely recommend the Bashkir State Medical University for practice and study," Adilzhan Zhalgaspaev shared.
"It was important for us to come to practice at BSMU to exchange knowledge with mentor doctors, get acquainted with the university system and strengthen ties with BSMU students. Of course, get acquainted with the Bashkir culture, see what kind of city Ufa is. At City Clinical Hospital No. 18, I was taught communication skills (even if the patient is negative), empathy, the ability to think critically and associate symptoms, pathophysiological mechanisms. There are differences from practice at our university. Here we are warmly welcomed by both doctors and patients; we have the right to choose a branch and find our own mentors; morning rounds, where you can ask questions and not be shy; use of equipment for rehabilitation; trips to the intensive care unit; completing and studying medical history. I remember the cardiology department of the City Clinical Hospital No. 18, especially Dr. Elmira Zhamsurovna, who painstakingly taught us how to communicate with patients, the intricacies of prescribing drugs, writing a history of diseases, the correct questioning of complaints and anamnesis. We were also warmly welcomed in the neurological department, where we were shown care for seriously ill patients, the use of special equipment for rehabilitation, and the study of neurological symptoms. And of course, our curator Bashin Igor Olegovich, who supported us in every possible way, helped to adapt and gave direction," Akbota Zhumabaeva said.
"I received a lot of knowledge, I learned to listen to heart murmurs from the cardiologist Elvina Zhamsurovna, I am very grateful to her, and I am very grateful to our curator Igor Olegovich for familiarizing us with the hospital, being responsive, always helping us. We were also warmly welcomed in the neurological department, where we were shown care for seriously ill patients, the use of special equipment for rehabilitation, and the study of neurological symptoms. I take all this knowledge with me. In practice, at BSMU, we interacted more with patients, as well as with doctors, which I really liked," commented Jasmin Akhmetova.
"I wanted to see the structure of medicine in Ufa, to gain new knowledge, to see new clinical cases. I take with me an interesting experience gained at BSMU to Kazakhstan. Most of all, I remember the new clinical cases and the doctor-patient attitude. The therapy department took a separate place in my heart. Ufa is a beautiful, beautiful city where people are friendly and always ready to help with any problem. I want to come here again in the future and take a walk slowly," Dilnaz Iralina shared her experience.
