The XII Ufa International Marathon was held in Ufa, which brought together more than 9 thousand athletes and runners from 43 regions of Russia and 46 countries of the world at its starts. Bashkir State Medical University took an active part in the event, becoming the most massive among all higher educational institutions.
In the competition program, participants were offered distances of 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, 21.1 km and a classic marathon of 42.2 km, as well as a special children's race of 50-200 meters. The track has traditionally run through the picturesque historical places of the Bashkir capital.
The honor of the University at prestigious starts was defended by more than 100 students and staff. As part of the BSMU team, both experienced athletes and teachers took to the start, demonstrating their commitment to a healthy lifestyle by personal example.
All representatives of BSMU adequately overcame the selected distances and showed excellent results. Of particular note is the head of the department of ophthalmology with the course of IDPO Timur Mukhamadeev, who successfully finished at the most difficult marathon distance of 42.2 km. The distance of 10 km was covered by the head of the department of physical culture Ruslan Gainullin and the teacher of the department Bulat Ilyasov.
Students of the University also showed high activity. Decent results showed:

Azalea Sitdikova (resident of the 1st year, distance 10 km);

It is noteworthy that some employees and students went to the start with whole families, supporting the traditions of a healthy lifestyle and family values.
According to the results of the race, all participants were awarded commemorative medals and prizes. The annual participation of representatives of BSMU in the Ufa International Marathon and their high results confirm the status of a leader in the popularization of sports and a healthy lifestyle.
