Urologist of the BSMU Clinic presented the clinical experience of the university at the ERUS26 in Padua

From September 9 to 11, the 23rd meeting of the section of robotic urology of the European Association of Urology - ERUS26 took place in the Italian city of Padua. This is Europe's largest event where leading medical experts from around the world discuss and present the latest technologies for the use of robotic surgery in the treatment of urological diseases.

The meeting was attended by a urologist-oncologist, deputy director of the Institute of Urology and Clinical Oncology of the Clinic of Bashkir State Medical University Marat Urmantsev. He presented several scientific reports based on research and clinical cases in several areas of robot-assisted urology:

• radical prostatectomy preserving Retzius space and nerve structures (pilot series of 100 patients);

• bilateral renal resection for simultaneously detected tumors: experience of 20 cases;

• results of 300 robot-assisted radical cystectomies for bladder cancer and technique mastery analysis;

• resection of a large kidney tumor without ischemia: clinical case;

• removal of renal cell carcinoma with tumor thrombus of the inferior vena cava: a phased analysis of the surgical technique.

Participation in the ERUS26 has also become a platform for establishing new professional contacts and strengthening international cooperation. Recall that an agreement was signed between the Bashkir State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia and the Lariana Hospital (Como, Italy) on the creation of a Russian-Italian center for training high-tech urology and surgery in the Republic of Bashkortostan. In addition, in 2026, Italian specialists became participants in the III International Eurasian Forum of Colorectal Surgery and the II International Forum "Week of Urology and Oncology in Ufa," organized by the Bashkir State Medical University.
