The German leading urologist Armin Secker performs a master class at BSMU Clinic
12 December, 2017 in the Clinic of Bashkir State Medical University the master class "ThuLEP: modern possibilities enucleation of the prostate using laser tulawaka" was held with Armin Secker participating, head of the Endourology and Kidney Stone Disease Department at the Urology and Pediatric Urology Clinicof Muenster University. It was conducted along with the stream from operating room to the lecture hall of BSMU Clinic and on the website uroweb.ru.
- Due to these master classes students, residents and physicians have the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest technologies in medicine and to see the work of leading specialists of the world, such as Armin Secker, in our university - made said a welcoming speech at the opening of the master class Valentin Pavlov, BSMU rector, corresponding member RAS. Armin Secker noted that enucleation of the prostatic adenoma using Tulawaka laser is a viable alternative to standard transurethral resection and open adenomektomy, it allows to expand indications to operative treatment in somatically complicated patients.
Surgeons, Armin Securom, and Adel Izmailov, head of the Urology Department at BSMU Clinic, carried out the stream operation ThuLEP. The operation was presented at urology medical portal uroweb.ru and in the lecture hall at BSMU Clinic for students, residents, and physicians.
Three patients of the age of 80, 68, and 60 years with second-degree benign prostatic hyperplasia were operated on.
After the surgery, Armin Secker gave a lecture about the difference of methods ThuVarp – ThuVep – ThuLep and answered questions.
