The Republic Children’s Clinical Hospital doctors’ experience was presented at the First Congress of the Eurasian Pediatric Neurosurgery Community

The first Congress of the Eurasian Pediatric Neurosurgery Community was held from 29 November till 1 December, 2017 in Minsk.

The event brought together more than 300 top specialists from Russia, Belarus, UK, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Ukraine, Greece, Italy, Brazil, Spain, France, Israel, and Japan. The program of the Congress included lectures, plenary and research reports.

Timershin A. G., chief specialist of pediatric neurosurgery of the Ministry of Healthcare of Bashkortostan, head of the Neurosurgical Department at RCCH, RB honored doctor, MD, neurosurgeon of higher category, associate Professor of the Neurology with Courses of Neurosurgery and Medical Genetics department at BSMU, presented Russia and Republic of Bashkortostan.

Airat Garievich made a report "Cranioplasty at Non-Syndromic Craniosynostosis among Children." The experience of neurosurgeons of the Republic of Bashkortostan was covered in the message "Antenatal Diagnosis of Malformations of the Central Nervous System in the Republic of Bashkortostan".

During the three-day Congress, the lectures of the International school of ISPN were reported. The most actual problems of pediatric neurosurgery in the modern world were highlighted; the participants exchanged their experiences on neonatal surgery, discussed the intricacies of the treatment of preterm infants, whose body weight at birth was less than 1000 g. They were acquainted to the capabilities of neuro-surgery of the fetus, in particular to intrauterine correction of this malformation, such as hydrocephalus. Among other highlighted topics, there were neurooncology, traumatic brain injury, functional diseases of the nervous system that cause neurological disorders, epilepsy etc. In the framework of the Congress, the program of development ЕАNS was adopted.

The organizers of the first Congress of the Eurasian Pediatric Neurosurgery Community became the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Belarus, the Eurasian Association of Pediatric Neurosurgeons, All-Russian society on Pediatric Neurosurgery, the Ukrainian Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery, International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ISPN), European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN), etc.

The following Congress of neurosurgeons will be held in Kazakhstan in 2019.
