Bashkir State Medical University is the foremost medical university in the Russian Federation and in the Republic of Bashkortostan. It was established by the Decree of the council of people’s commissars in 1932.
In 1995, Bashkir State Medical Institute obtained the status of university.
In 2010 Ufa Medical College became a part of BSMU.
At BSMU we believe in fostering a strong network that not only helps the former students to remain connected but also to provide an avenue for the philanthropic spirit of triumphant alumni.
Foreign affairs
From the dawn of this University, it has always envisioned to evolve as an institution with international standard. Internationalization started with the admission of foreign students followed by international embassies. It is truly the University without borders.
A very sophisticated International Relations Office has been established to help in the internationalization efforts. It also takes care of the international students enrolled in the University in addition to the already existing exemplary guest care.
Academic alliance
Alliance with overseas educational, medical and scientific institutions, international, national, non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations is considered to be the most principal direction of the Bashkir State Medical University activity. University clinic
BSMU have a huge clinic, which has 625 beds and serves 24,000 patients annually.
More than 10,000 surgeries have been executed and 4,000 babies have been delivered here.
It is furnished with modern CT, MRI, electrophysiology laboratory, intracardiac navigation system and single photon emission computer tomography.
BSMU Clinic includes Surgical department, Therapeutic department, Maternity department, two Simulation Centers, Lecture hall and outpatient department.
Forum and master-classes
Student blooming programs at BSMU have been built around providing an avenue for scientific activities and interaction with top doctors from all over the world.
Keeping the goal in mind many master classes are being organized by the University for the students to mold them in upcoming new medical techniques and technologies.
Live surgery conferences are organized with world’s top surgeons for the boost of our future doctors.

Culture is the characteristics of a particular group of people, defined by everything from language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts. Through culture we are governed by norms and customs, which are the pillars of any society. If these pillars are not properly followed in our society, our culture will resemble a perfume with no smell.
The word University is sometimes explained as Universal Greatness Lies In Capacity. The Capacity includes diversity not only in academic views and thoughts of free discoveries, but also in religions, culture and people of different races.
