Research interests are related to the study of the genetics of complex diseases, in particular, chronic respiratory diseases (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, childhood lung diseases, occupation asthma and chronic bronchitis), metabolic disorders (type 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity), cardiovascular diseases and the molecular basis of human adaptation to the conditions of chronic anthropogenic pollution, as well as molecular patterns of aging. The current collection of biomaterials of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, children with chronic respiratory diseases, workers with professional diseases of respiratory and healthy individuals contains more than 2000 DNA samples and 200 RNA samples belonging to the main ethnic groups living in the Republic of Bashkortostan. At present, our laboratory work on the study of the patterns of formation of a pathological phenotype in connection with expression, gene polymorphism, and epigenetic processes.
