Sofya Samievna graduated from Bashkir State Medical Institute in 1970, awarded a Lenin scholarship for excellent studies, worked as a junior scientific researcher at the Ufa Research Institute of Hygiene and Occupational Diseases, pursued a post graduated program at the Department of Pharmacology of BGMI from 1972 to 1975, worked as a therapist at the Ufa Research Institute of Hygiene and Occupational Diseases after defending PhD dissertation. Sofya Samievna has been working as an assistant at the Department of Hospital Therapy since 1978, has been working in the position of associate professor at the same department since 1991.

Maksyutova S.S. is an Honored Doctor of the Republic of Bashkortostan and has the highest qualification category in therapy, engaged in medical consultation work at the Republican Clinical Hospital of War Veterans.

More than 400 articles and theses, 15 textbooks, 5 monographs were published during the work.
