Elvira Gazizovna graduated from the Bashkir State Medical Institute in 1983 with honors, completed therapy internship based at the Republican Clinical Hospital named after Kuvatov in Ufa in 1984, worked at the Republican Cardiological Dispensary in 1984-1985, has been studied in a clinical residency program specializing in internal medicine from 1985 to 1988. E. G. Mutalova has been worked at the Republican Clinical Hospital named after. G.G. Kuvatova since 1988, defended the candidate dissertation in 1989, рarticipated in the World Congress of Cardiology in 1994 (Berlin).

E.G. Mutalova completed an internship at the University of Humboldt (Berlin) in 1996 and defended the doctoral dissertation in the specialty of cardiology and biochemistry   under the guidance of academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences E.L. Nasonov, professor R.M. Fazlyeva in 1998, have taken part in European Congresses of Cardiologists in Sweden, Austria and Turkey.

E.G. Mutalova currently heads the Department of Hospital Therapy No. 1 since 2003, under whose leadership scientific, educational, methodological and medical work is carried out.

More than 20 candidate dissertations have been defended, scientific work is being actively carried out under the guidance of professor E. G. Mutalova, the department has repeatedly won prizes in educational and methodological work.

Scientific activities are devoted to the problems of pathogenesis, early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease and hypertension, and their complications, endothelial dysfunction, studying the effectiveness of antihypertensive drugs, physiological methods of rehabilitation of patients who have suffered a myocardial infarction, determining the quality of life of patients with chronic heart failure, course of hypertension in obesity.
