V.E. Alekhin graduated from Bashkir State Medical Institute, specialty "General Medicine" with honors. He completed an internship in psychiatry and worked as a narcologist for 7 years.

In 2002 he defended his thesis on "Psycho-emotional disorders in patients operated for gastric ulcer and 12 peptic ulcer".

Since March 2006 he has been working as an assistant of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology with Postgraduate courses, since 2010 as an associate professor.

Has 37 printed scientific works. He is actively engaged in treatment of patients with alcoholism and tobacco smoking.

He is a co-author of 2 textbooks: "A Concise Dictionary of Terms of Psychiatry and Psychopharmacology" (2009) and "Neurasthenia. Diagnosis. Treatment" (2011). Honored Healthcare Worker of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
