Novikova L.B. – Head of the Department of Neurology IAPE, MD, Professor, Winner of the All-Russian Prize for achievements in the field of stroke in the nomination «For personal contribution to the fight against stroke» (2019), laureate of the Professor Gaponyuk Prize in the field of vascular pathology of the brain (RAMN), member of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), member of the Board of the All-Russian and Bashkir Society of Neurologists, member of the Scientific Council of the Scientific Center of Neurology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Problem Commission on Neurology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, member of the Presidium of NABI (National Stroke Association), member of the Council of Experts of the Association of Interdisciplinary Medicine, Member of the Board of the Society of Evidence.

For her great personal contribution to the development of the neurological service and the training of highly qualified medical staff, she was awarded the honorary titles «Honored Doctor of the Republic of Bashkortostan», «Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation», and in 2016, by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin, she was awarded the medal – Order «For Services to the Fatherland II degree», in 2022 she was awarded Order of Honor by the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan R. Khabirov.

With her active participation, the Head Vascular Center and the City Center for Restorative Medicine and Rehabilitation for patients after stroke were created on the basis of the Clinical hospital of emergency medical care (BSMP) and Clinical hospital №5 in Ufa, of which she is the scientific director.

She is a member of the editorial board of 9 Higher Attestation Commission-peer-reviewed journals, 3 of which are included in Scopus, the Russian version of the American journal Stroke. She was a member of the dissertation councils of BSMU and Saratov State Medical University.

Professor Novikova L.B. is a member of the Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the specialty «Neurology» and an expert in neurology of the Federal Service for Supervision of Healthcare and Social Development of the Russian Federation. For many years she performed the work of the chief freelance neurologist of the Ministry of Health in the Republic of Bashkortostan and Ufa.

The main research areas are problems of vascular diseases, vertebroneurology, craniovertebral anomalies, neuroinfections, neuroimaging, neurorehabilitation, somatoneurology, angioneurosurgery, tumors and injuries of the nervous system and diseases of the nervous system in children.

Author of over 488 scientific works, including in Scopus and the Higher Attestation Commission-peer-reviewed journals, 8 monographs. She has 13 patents for the invention.

Under the guidance of Prof. Novikova L.B. 2 doctoral and 19 candidate dissertations have been defended, the scientific guidance of graduate students and doctoral students continues.

Novikova L.B. is an organizer, member of the Organizing Committee and participant of international, All-Russian, republican scientific and practical conferences, master-classes and webinars. She made presentations in English in Prague, Vienna, Croatia; in 2020, 2021 and 2022 at the Virtual International Congress of Neurologists in Paris, Austria, where she received a certificate of an international lecturer.
