HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Outpatient Pediatrics was organized in 1987 due to the demand for specialists in primary healthcare. The first head of the department in 1987–1999. was Honored Doctor of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, Associate Professor Luiza Akramovna Faezova. In 1999, in connection with changes in the curriculum at the pediatric faculties of medical universities in Russia at BSMU, a reorganization of pediatric departments took place and a single department of hospital pediatrics with a course of outpatient pediatrics was created. Then, in 2006, the Department of Training of Interns of Pediatricians and Pediatric Cardiology IPO was organized, which from September 1, 2012 was reorganized into the Department of Polyclinic and Emergency Pediatrics with the IPO course. The main bases of the department since its organization are: city children's clinics of the city of Ufa No. 5, No. 3, No. 6, No. 4, No. 2, the outpatient department of the State Budgetary Institution of Healthcare of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, City Clinical Hospital No. 17, the children's outpatient department of the State Budgetary Institution of Healthcare of the Republic of Belarus, City Clinical Hospital of the Demsky district. From 2006 to the present, the department is headed by the Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the ROO for the development of pediatrics in the Republic of Bashkortostan "Republican Society of Pediatricians of Bashkortostan", Chairman of the Bashkortostan branch of the Association of Pediatric Cardiologists of Russia, member of the Academic Council of BSMU, member of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Pediatrics, Chairman of the Central Medical Committee of Pediatric Disciplines of the Belarusian State Medical University, member of the certification commission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus in the specialty “Pediatrics”, “Pediatric Cardiology”, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Lyudmila Viktorovna Yakovleva.

Under her leadership, 9 master's theses were defended by practical healthcare doctors and 2 planned master's theses were being carried out. Based on the results of research work by Yakovleva L.V. has more than 320 publications. He is a co-author of the Federal Clinical Guidelines for the provision of medical care to children.

The department carries out a great deal of educational and methodological work: new work programs have been created in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education in the specialty “Polyclinic Pediatrics”, work programs for training highly qualified personnel in residency in the specialty “Pediatrics” and “Pediatric Cardiology”. The department has a complete educational and methodological complex in all taught disciplines. Teachers also take part in the implementation of the process of continuing medical education (CME). Currently, training is underway in 5 work programs, which are included in the register on the website www.rosminzdrav.ru , and new programs are being developed.

Employees of the department take part in the intermediate certification of residents, the certification exam of doctors, and the final state certification of students. The customer for training is practical healthcare. Today the department has 9 full-time teachers, including: 1 professor, 3 associate professors, 5 assistants, 1 senior laboratory assistant.

Much attention at the department is paid to training students in the skills of providing emergency care for various urgent conditions in children. Practical skills are developed at the university simulation center.

Employees of the department, together with the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution RCC, carry out extensive preventive work on the early detection of cardiovascular diseases in children and adolescents, and risk factors. Joint activities have begun to prepare for the implementation of the “Modular program for maintaining health throughout life in the Republic of Bashkortostan”, including modules for teaching the basics of a healthy lifestyle to children of preschool and school age.

The department's employees carry out extensive medical and advisory work at clinical sites. Teachers participate in morning meetings, consultations and consultations of complex patients, medical and expert councils.  

The department constantly provides organizational and methodological assistance: teachers travel to cities and regions of the republic, conduct expert assessments of medical documentation, help with the implementation of Federal clinical recommendations, and advise diagnostically complex patients.

Currently, the department has high scientific and pedagogical potential. The area of ​​scientific interests of the department is the improvement of methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of children with cardiovascular diseases, current issues of pediatric sports cardiology, problems of protecting the health of children and adolescents, assessment of the quality of life of children and the role of vitamin D in various diseases. The department works in close cooperation with clinical sites. The results of joint medical and scientific work are presented annually at republican and all-Russian scientific and practical conferences, congresses and in joint publications, including in journals recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission.

The BSMU Student Scientific Society circle is actively functioning at the department. Under the guidance of the teaching staff, students conduct their first research searches and implement them into scientific articles with subsequent participation in international student conferences and olympiads, taking prizes. Classes in the scientific circle have a great influence on the education of the younger generation of future pediatricians and pediatric cardiologists, increasing their level of knowledge and correctness in choosing a profession.

 

Students show great interest in preparing to participate in student competitions at various levels in the specialty of Pediatrics. For a number of years, this process has been led by Associate Professor of the Department Arduvanova G.M. 

As a graduating department, employees prepare students for the primary accreditation exam (specialty) and primary specialized accreditation in the specialties “Pediatrics” and “Pediatric Cardiology”.

The department actively participates in the public life of the university. Employees take part in events such as freshers' day, sports competitions, meetings with students dedicated to a healthy lifestyle; celebration of Victory Day, etc.

Teachers actively work with children and adolescents. Every year, as part of a modular program for maintaining health throughout life in the Republic of Bashkortostan and pre-profile training, together with the clinical base of the Republican Cardiology Center, classes are held with schoolchildren who in the future plan to connect their lives with the profession of a doctor.         

The department works in close cooperation with the teams of all pediatric departments of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education BSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia and other medical universities and research centers of the Russian Federation.

Today the department is full of new creative ideas and is ready to solve the tasks assigned to it in training highly qualified specialists - pediatricians. 

 

 

The Department of Polyclinic and Emergency Pediatrics with the course of IDPO is one of the main graduating departments of the Faculty of Pediatrics. The department provides training to 4th, 5th, 6th year students of the Faculty of Pediatrics in the specialty 05/31/02 - Pediatrics in the following disciplines: “Outpatient and emergency pediatrics”, “Cycle of simulation training”, elective “General understanding of orphan diseases in children”, elective “ Changes in laboratory parameters in hematological syndromes in children.”

In addition, the department provides continuous professional education in residency in the specialty 08/31/19 – Pediatrics, in the specialty 08/31/13 – Pediatric Cardiology, professional retraining of pediatricians in the specialty “Pediatric Cardiology” in the amount of 576 hours, advanced training of pediatric cardiologists in the amount of 144 hours.

Every year, cycles of advanced training for doctors are conducted in the system of continuing medical education in the amount of 36 hours in the specialties of Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, and General Practitioner.

The department has a full range of educational and methodological material that corresponds to the content, level of training and qualification requirements of specialists. The educational process is provided with the necessary number of teaching aids, methodological instructions and other educational materials and literature (see Educational portal). In the learning process, educational films, clinical rounds, business games, seminars, conferences, and the most modern technical teaching aids are used. To ensure distance learning, develop self-study skills and cognitive activity of students, an electronic information and educational environment has been developed, including educational, methodological and assessment materials, lectures in the format of presentations and webinars, chats and video conferences. Postgraduate training technologies are continuously being improved.
