Department of Medical Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine with a course of the Institute of Further Postgraduate Education BSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia is a structural unit of the university (head of the department - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Gilmutdinova Lira Talgatovna). The department was organized in 2000. as the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Balneology, IPO is one of the first departments in Russia in the field of restorative medicine and rehabilitation. HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The department was organized in 2000. as the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Balneology, IPO is one of the first departments in Russia in the field of restorative medicine and rehabilitation. Since 2012, the department has been renamed into the Department of Medical Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy and Balneology of IDPO BSMU, since 2018 - into the Department of Medical Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine with the course of IDPO BSMU.

Department since 2001 is the base of the Research Institute of Regenerative Medicine and Balneology of the Bashkir State Medical University.

Head of the department. The founder of the department and the head of the department from 2000 to the present is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Lira Talgatovna Gilmutdinova - a leading scientist in the field of cardiology and therapy, rehabilitation and balneology, since 2001 - founder and director of the Research Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine and Balneology of the Bashkir State Medical University. Professor L.T. Gilmutdinova - Honored Doctor of the Republic of Bashkortostan (2000), Russian Federation (2013). Scientific activities of the department. Employees of the department have developed and implemented new methods, methods of rehabilitation, sanatorium therapy: a method of rehabilitation of patients with myocardial infarction using air-ozone and dry carbon dioxide baths and their combination with physical training, including in a deep-sea pool; a method for the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases based on a developed antioxidant product of plant origin; a method of rehabilitation after reconstructive heart surgery using interstitial electrophoresis of NSAIDs; method of sanatorium treatment of metabolic syndrome using hypoxic therapy in a hypobaric chamber, plasmapheresis in combination with kumiss treatment and taking mineral water, sulfide baths and general magnetotherapy (RF Patents).
