Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care with a course of IAPE

In Bashkortostan scientific research on anaesthesiology and intensive care has begun in the 1960s. A course of anaesthesiology and intensive care in Bashkir State Medical Institute (BSMI) was organised in 1967 and was headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor A.A. Legos. Since the 70s a research on methods of anaesthesia, state of organs and systems during anaesthesia, as well as organisation of anesthesiologic help and intensive care has been conducted. Anesthesiologists and intensive care specialists have been studied at the faculty of advanced education of BSMI since 1988.

In 1995 the course was transformed into the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care of BSMI. Farid Galeev was elected the head of the department. In 1996 the course of advanced education was opened and transformed in 2000 into the course of postgraduate education of BSMU.

Heads of the Department:

since 1995 - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Farid Galeev,

since 2009 - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Marsel Sadritdinov,

since 2015 - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ildar Lutfarakhmanov.

Employees of the department has done extensive work on the formation of educational and methodological materials that provide education in the speciality of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. The topics of scientific research conducted by the staff of the department include: anaesthesia in various parts of surgery, intensive care in emergency situations, history of the development of anaesthesiology and intensive care in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Practical doctors were actively involved in scientific research. Long-lasting connections with Russian and foreign educational and research centres were established. Close interaction with medical universities of Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Moscow and participation in international conferences led to mutual enrichment of educational and scientific programmes.

Simulation Centre was opened in 2012 and has now become a powerful structure uniting different faculties.

In 2015 the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences Ildar Lutfarakhmanov, who worked for many years in the largest scientific and clinical centres of Moscow, has extensive experience in various high-tech methods of anaesthesia during surgical interventions in the most complex areas of surgery. Ildar Lutfarakhmanov aims to improve the education and further professional development of anaesthesiologists and intensive care specialists of the Republic. With the arrival of professor Lutfarakhmanov the scientific life of the department was revived: scientific and practical conferences, master-classes are held, medical education is developing. Postgraduate students are accepted to the department every year to perform various researches.

Every year the All-Russian Student Olympiad in Surgery with international participation is held in BSMU. The Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care actively participates in the Olympiad to provide anaesthesia and maintain vital functions of the organism during surgeries.

The employees and students of the department take an active part in the fight against new coronavirus infection COVID-19. Special teams were formed to provide assistance in medical help in the Amur region, Republic of Abkhazia, Kamchatka Krai, Karachay Cherkessia, Kyrgyzstan.

6.     "Emergency medical manipulations" in the educational programme "General Medicine"

 

7. "Emergency care" in the educational programme "Stomatology"

 

In the process of teaching at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care with a course of IAPE computer technologies are widely used in training: all lectures are accompanied by multimedia support, multimedia situational tasks are used in practical classes, computer-based training and controlling test programmes are developed. Simulation technologies are introduced in the educational process and are represented in two directions: training on simulator mannequins and training on biological models.
