Department of Fundamental and Applied Microbiology

The department is located in building No. 7 of BSMU (Ufa, Pushkin str., 96/98). Seminars, practical classes, educational and pre-graduate practices are held on the basis of the VCGPH, the bacteriological laboratory of the BSMU clinic and the specialized laboratories of the IBG UNC RAS.

Currently, students are trained at the department in the areas of 06.03.01 Biology (bachelor's degree), 06.04.01 Biology (Master's degree), in the specialties 32.05.01 Medical and preventive medicine, 30.05.01 Medical Biochemistry, 31.02.03 Laboratory diagnostics and 33.05.01 Pharmacy, as well as 33.04.01 Industrial Pharmacy (master's degree). Teaching at the department is conducted by 2 professors, 7 associate professors, 1 senior lecturer and 4 assistants.

Currently, the department participates in the implementation of educational programs in the field of 06.03.01 Biology, 06.04.01 Biology, 33.04.01 Industrial Pharmacy, specialties 32.05.01 Preventive medicine, 33.05.01 Pharmacy, 30.05.01 Medical Biochemistry, specialty SPO 31.02.03 Laboratory diagnostics, as well as postgraduate programs in the scientific specialty 1.5.11 Microbiology. The staff of the department has developed more than 50 work programs. The quality of teaching and the acquisition of competencies by students is regulated by monitoring with the help of a fund of evaluation materials. In 2022, 4 teaching aids were prepared for extracurricular work for students in the field of training 06.03.01 Biology, 06.04.01 Biology in medical microbiology and immunology. Students are trained in the following disciplines and electives: "Earth Sciences", "Immunology", "Microbiology, Virology", "Genetics and Breeding", "Theories of Evolution", "Biological foundations of biodiversity Protection", "Introduction to Biotechnology", "Bioengineering and Bioinformatics", "Genetics and systematics of microorganisms", "Ecosystem of the Earth", "Molecular biology", "Cytology of microorganisms", "Physiology of growth and reproduction of microorganisms", "Industrial microbiology and biotechnology", "Clinical and sanitary microbiology", "Laboratory parasitology", "Laboratory mycology", "Clinical laboratory diagnostics", "Experimental models in Biology", "Medical Virology", "Biometrics", "Methods of cell Biology", "Fundamentals of Genetic Engineering", "Fundamentals of Nanobiotechnology" and others. Students acquire practical skills and abilities within the framework of educational and industrial practices in the relevant programs "Genetics", "Ecology", "Microbiology", "Molecular Biology"
