Since 2012, students of the 4th year of the pediatric faculty have been studying at the department in the discipline "Children's diseases". Since 2014, students have been studying under the FGOS HE program in the discipline "Faculty Pediatrics, endocrinology". Since 2016, the department has been teaching 4.5-year students of the Faculty of Pediatrics in the discipline "Faculty Pediatrics" and 6th-year students in the discipline "Simulation training cycle. Emergency conditions in pediatrics".

Since 2020, according to the approved order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Federal State Educational Standard 3++ in the specialty 31.05.02 – Pediatrics (specialty level), students of 4,5,6 courses of the pediatric faculty successfully master the disciplines "Faculty Pediatrics", "Simulation training cycle in Pediatrics" in accordance with the curricula.

The department is actively engaged in preparing graduate students and residents for primary and primary specialized accreditation of specialists, ensures the organization of the work of stations, forms the installation and workplace of the accredited on the basis of the BSMU FAC. Every year, the teachers of the department carry out organizational and methodological guidance of the practice and are the university heads of the practice of students at the clinical bases of the university.

The department is equipped with a complex of educational and methodological material corresponding to the content, level of training and qualification requirements of specialists. The educational process is provided with the necessary number of textbooks, methodological guidelines for teachers and students and other literature. Educational films, clinical rounds, business games, seminars on the analysis of the quality of medical care, seminars and conferences are used in the learning process. Classes are conducted using simulators, phantoms, educational materials.

Teaching staff of the department annually have publications in periodicals and collections on educational and methodological issues, issue textbooks, publish textbooks in collaboration with other institutions. For example, Professor R.M. Fayzullina participated in the development and publication of the textbook "Childhood diseases" edited by R.R.Kildiyarova in 2021, the textbook "Propaedeutics of childhood diseases" edited by Professor R.R.Kildiyarova, Professor V.I. Makarova, in 2022.

Also, every year the teaching staff of the department have presentations at conferences and the media on the organization of educational and methodological work. The staff of the department V.V.Viktorov, A.G.Kryukova, L.R.Kudayarova, R.R.Gafurova are the organizers of the educational and methodological conference with international participation "The use of simulation educational technologies in teaching medical specialties and in healthcare", are members of the Russian Society for Simulation Training in Medicine "ROSOMED».

The department operates and actively conducts a student scientific circle, which is a structural subdivision of the Youth Scientific Society (INR) of the BSMU Ministry of Health of Russia. The Student Scientific Circle (SNC) has been working at the department since the 2012-2013 academic year, headed by the head of the department, Professor V.V. Viktorov.

During the period of work of the SNK of the department, its scientific supervisors were MD, Associate Professor S.I. Tevdoradze, MD, Associate Professor T.A. Titova. Since 2018, R.R. Gafurova's assistant has been responsible for the work of the scientific circle. More than 20 meetings of the circle are held annually, research work is carried out and scientific materials are published. Members of the circle actively perform at intra-university, All-Russian, international conferences, participate in student Olympiads. So, in May 2023 in Moscow, at the All-Russian Pediatric Forum of Students and young scientists with international participation "Virtuoso of Pediatrics", at the first pediatric interdisciplinary student Olympiad "Clinical Debut" with international participation, students of the pediatric faculty under the guidance of the assistant of the department R.R.Gafurova (team "Pulsik") became prize-winners and took 2nd place.

During the period of its work, SNK was recognized three times as the best in the nomination "Best Presentation of a scientific circle" in the pediatrics sector at the Intra-

University exhibition of scientific circles of the BSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia. December 14 , 2019 SNK "Faculty Pediatrics and Neonatology" of the department was awarded the title of the best scientific circle in the nomination "Start with yourself". In 2018-2019, the work of the head of the SNK "Faculty Pediatrics and Neonatology" was awarded the diploma "The best head of the scientific circle" according to the MNO of the BSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia. According to the results of the activities of the scientific circles of the SSS for the 2022-2023 academic year, the NC "Faculty Pediatrics and Simulation Technologies" of the department was awarded a cup and a diploma of the II degree.

The department also provides continuing professional education in residency in the specialties 31.08.19 Pediatrics, 31.08.18 Neonatology and 31.08.26 Allergology and Immunology; students are trained in additional professional programs: PC "Pediatrics", PC "Neonatology"; PC "Intensive therapy in neonatology – practical skills and abilities" (based on the training simulation center), PC "Allergology –immunology"; PP "Pediatrics" and PP "Neonatology", also according to the cycles of NMOS in the specialties: "Pediatrics", "Neonatology" and "Allergology –Immunology". Over the period from 2001 to 2022, more than 8000 cadets were covered by improvement in various cycles. The department has accumulated extensive experience in organizing and conducting field cycles.

The Department plans to improve approaches to the organization and methodological support of the educational process of students, to improve the qualifications of pediatric doctors in accordance with the needs of practical healthcare, to expand the training of doctors in correspondence and full-time education, the introduction of distance learning and telemedicine, the use of scientific and practical potential of Russian universities.
